What is an Injury?
- Excess stress or load placed on the body preventing it from functioning to full potential.
- Normally requires a period of recovery to allow your body to heal, recovery doesn’t necessarily mean rest/ inactivity.
- It usually affects your musculo-skeletal system including Bones, Muscles, Tendons, and Cartilage
- Injuries often result in pain, swelling, tenderness and the inability to use or place weight on the area.
- Two types of injury types;
- Acute - painful/swollen, fresh, trauma
- Chronic - usually reoccurring, built up over time.
